Kimberley
Cook is an avid gardener who, as most gardeners, is searching to create
"the perfect garden" from which she can find inspiration for her
paintings. Using the soil as her canvas, she is constantly looking to
place the perfect colours, and textures together to create a living
tapestry, which is constantly changing and evolving. With the help
of the deer and rabbits that nibble and carve their place in the natural
surroundings, her goal is to try and create an overgrown English garden.
Because Alberta can only grow limited plant material, it is a challenge
to plant and combine, through trial and error, a flower garden which
has a tangled and yet beautifully overgrown effect. Kimberley knows that
she will never reach the perfection she tries for, but she will continue
to play in the garden, painting the rich soil with life.
